AirPods 5 Preorders Live, Starting at Just $129
Apple's latest 'Surprise and Shine' event had more than one unexpected announcement. On Wednesday, Apple unveiled its new iPhone lineup, including a foldable iPhone, but the real surprise came in the form of the AirPods 5.
The AirPods 5 are available for preorder now at Amazon, Best Buy, and Apple, with prices starting at $129 for the standard model and $149 for the version with Wireless Charging Case. This is a notable reduction in pricing from the previous generation, which retailed for $129 and $179.
The AirPods 5 come equipped with active noise cancellation (ANC), a feature that was absent in the AirPods 4 and AirPods 4 with ANC. They also boast improved sound quality thanks to a new multiport acoustic architecture inspired by the design of the AirPods Pro 3.
The AirPods 5 offer up to five hours of battery life with ANC, and the version with Wireless Charging Case adds an extra hour of battery life compared to the previous generation. Additionally, both models feature live translation capabilities and Conversation Awareness, which adjusts audio volume for easy awareness.
