Albany Woman Arrested for Allegedly Plotting ISIS-Inspired Bombing of State Capitol
Jessica Bowie, a 35-year-old US citizen from Albany, New York, was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly plotting to bomb the state Capitol building in Albany. The FBI said that Bowie had been radicalized online and had pledged allegiance to ISIS.
According to the criminal complaint, Bowie began strategizing the attack in July and planned to place the bomb in a DoorDash food delivery bag. She purchased bomb materials from a Home Depot on August 5 while wearing a burqa.
Bowie allegedly told an FBI informant that she wanted to 'blow up' the Capitol building and kill senators, stating that she would prefer bombing the White House but found it 'an even harder job.'
