Albertsons, Chevron Unveil Fuel Savings Program for Joint Customers
Albertsons Cos., the Boise-based grocery store chain, has teamed up with Chevron U.S.A. Inc. to offer customers higher fuel discounts by combining their loyalty programs. The new feature allows shoppers to link their Albertsons forU rewards with Chevron Texaco Rewards accounts and redeem points earned from groceries alongside fuel rewards earned through Chevron and Texaco purchases.
The combined discount can be up to $1.50 per gallon, as members who redeem 1,000 Albertsons forU points can knock off $1 per gallon, and layering in Chevron Texaco Rewards adds another 50 cents per gallon. In California, where fuel costs are high, drivers can redeem 200 forU points to shave 20 cents off per gallon, up to 50 cents through Chevron Texaco Rewards.
To get started, customers need to link their forU and Chevron Texaco Rewards accounts, then enter the phone number tied to their forU account at the pump (or their Chevron Texaco Rewards number, if it’s different) and apply their combined rewards toward fuel. The feature is available at participating stations across 35 states and the District of Columbia under more than 22 well-known banners operated by Albertsons.
