Alphabet Agrees to $352M Settlement in UK App Store Fee Lawsuit

Google's parent company, Alphabet Inc., has agreed to pay $352 million to settle a U.K. class action lawsuit alleging excessive commissions on app store fees.

The settlement, worth £260 million, will provide compensation to thousands of developers who distribute apps through the Google Play Store.

About 160 million pounds will go directly to U.K. developers, while the remaining £100 million will cover litigation funding and legal expenses.

Alphabet did not admit liability in the agreement, which must still be approved by the Competition Appeal Tribunal.
