Alphabet's leadership, led by Sundar Pichai, is making strategic decisions that set it apart from its hyperscaler peers. One key differentiator is Alphabet's ability to own the entire AI stack, from silicon to distribution layer. This approach has resulted in impressive growth for Google Cloud, with revenue increasing 82% to $24.768 billion in the June quarter.

Three reasons why conviction in Alphabet holds are its measurable moat, strong balance sheet, and attractive valuation. The company's return on equity is 48.7%, and it has a trailing 12-month operating cash flow of $185.7 billion. Alphabet also trades at a trailing P/E of 17 with a PEG of 0.969.

Alphabet's full-stack AI leadership sets it apart from Microsoft and Amazon, which do not own the entire vertical. At a price of 17 times earnings, Alphabet is also the cheapest of the three hyperscalers by a wide margin. The company's capital intensity is real, with a $195 billion to $205 billion CapEx guidance for full-year 2026, but management has framed this as part of a disciplined ROIC framework.
