Alphabet Pours Billions into AI Infrastructure Push
Alphabet Inc., the owner of Google, has priced an upsized $84.75 billion equity capital raise, including a $10 billion private placement from Berkshire Hathaway.
The company intends to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes, including capital expenditures to scale its AI infrastructure and global compute capacity.
Alphabet's capital expenditure plans have been growing rapidly, with the company spending about $31 billion in 2022, a figure that has grown sixfold by 2026, and is now expected to spend $180 billion to $190 billion.
