Alphabet Secures $5.5B in Australian Debt Sale Amid Tech Bond Boom
Alphabet, the parent company of Google, has successfully executed a $5.5 billion debt issuance in the Australian corporate bond market.
The transaction, which exceeded its initial target of $4 billion due to high demand from institutional investors, generated over $18 billion in orders, allowing Alphabet to secure lower borrowing costs.
The capital raised will support the company's ongoing digital infrastructure and data centre operations.
Aware Super's head of defensive assets, Sonia Baillie, stated that the transaction is a 'validation of the growing importance and sophistication' of the Australian corporate bond market.
