Alphabet Secures Up to $25 Billion in Bond Offering for AI Expansion
Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google, is embarking on one of its most ambitious infrastructure expansions yet. The tech giant plans to secure up to $25 billion through a multi-tranche bond offering with maturity dates ranging from 2 to 40 years.
The funds will be used to finance Alphabet's projected capital spending of $195-$205 billion through 2026, primarily targeting AI infrastructure development. This includes data center construction, server expansion, and chip infrastructure necessary to support its Gemini AI platform and Google Cloud operations.
The bond sale features 10 distinct tranches designed to attract diverse institutional investors. Two-year notes on the short end carry pricing approximately 60 basis points above comparable U.S. Treasury securities.
