Alphabet Stock Bounces Off Earnings but Advertising Worries Remain
Alphabet's stock price has been rising, and some analysts see it as a new buy point. The Dow Jones tech titan reported its latest quarterly earnings on February 2, with shares jumping to $148.24 after the announcement. However, despite the recent surge, Alphabet still faces challenges in its advertising business.
The company's fourth-quarter revenue came in at $76.05 billion, a 1% increase from the same period last year. Net income rose 19% to $13.84 billion, driven by growth in YouTube and cloud services.
Despite these positives, some analysts are concerned about Alphabet's reliance on advertising revenue. Google's dominance in search and online ads makes it vulnerable to changes in consumer behavior and competition from emerging platforms like TikTok.
