The Amaravati Quantum Computing Centre in Andhra Pradesh is nearing completion, with an expected inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in January. The centre will house IBM's advanced 133-qubit quantum computer, which will be installed by year-end.

The construction of the AQCC has made significant progress, with nearly 50% of the work already completed. The facility is designed to provide an ultra-stable environment essential for quantum computing and features a vibration-resistant laboratory that can withstand even minor tremors caused by passing vehicles or earthquakes.

The laboratory's foundation will be supported by 30-metre-deep piles, while the remaining sections of the building rest on a raft foundation built four metres below ground level. The facility will also have advanced cooling systems capable of sustaining ultra-low temperatures continuously and will receive electricity from two separate substations.
