Amazon Bets $2 Billion on Prime Video Expansion in Latin America
Amazon has committed $2 billion to expand its Prime Video service across Latin America through 2030.
The investment aims to accelerate regional growth by scaling original productions, securing live sports rights, and extending third-party streaming storefronts in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, and Chile.
As part of the deployment, Amazon plans to more than double its slate of local original titles by 2030 relative to 2026 levels, with over 25 new releases scheduled for 2027.
The strategy targets a broad spectrum of scripted series, films, and unscripted formats intended to drive regional subscriber retention while offering global crossover potential.
