Amazon Blows Past Q2 Expectations with Record-Breaking Growth
Amazon's Q2 earnings report has left investors impressed as it outperformed expectations across the board. In its second-quarter results, Amazon reported a net sales of $200.6 billion, which is 20% higher than last year's numbers.
The company's AI investments have proven worthwhile in near-term gains, with its cloud computing platform Amazon Web Services (AWS) generating $42.2 billion for the quarter and topping expectations by nearly $2 billion.
Amazon's CEO Andy Jassy stated that AWS is booming, growing 36.7% year-over-year in Q2, its fastest growth in 18 quarters. He also highlighted the company's AI and Chips businesses, which have each eclipsed run rates of more than $25 billion.
