Amazon Boosts Prime Video Shopping with Expanded 'Shop the Show' Tool
Amazon has enhanced its Prime Video shopping capabilities, making it easier for customers to purchase goods while watching their favorite shows. The online retailer is expanding its 'Shop the Show' tool, which allows viewers to simultaneously watch and shop via a second-screen mobile experience.
The feature, introduced last year, has been available on over 1,300 titles but will now work on more than 8,000. This means customers can search for products related to their favorite shows without needing on-screen interruptions or logins.
Amazon has also added a 'Shop Tab' within the Prime Video X-Ray interactive viewing experience, allowing customers to explore products related to what they're watching. Additionally, a new feature called 'Shop the Scene' uses Amazon's Lens tool to identify products inspired by content such as characters' outfits and home décor.
Currently available on hundreds of titles, this new feature is based on photos from users' device cameras, enabling them to shop items seen in scenes. By expanding its shopping capabilities, Amazon aims to provide a seamless experience for its customers, making it easier for them to discover and purchase products related to their favorite shows.
