Amazon Boosts Wind Energy Capacity with Swedish Deals

Amazon has signed long-term agreements to purchase electricity from four wind farms in Sweden. The deals, which add almost 200 megawatts of power, will help meet demand for its growing data centers in the Nordic nation.

The e-commerce giant now plans to have nearly 1 gigawatt of supply in Sweden once the projects are fully operational. This capacity is enough to power more than 350,000 households annually, according to Amazon.

Amazon's investments in wind energy include over 700 projects globally, with a portfolio exceeding 40 gigawatts. In Europe, the company has invested in more than 260 projects, providing over 10 gigawatts of new carbon-free energy capacity.
