Amazon Brings Drone Deliveries to Tracy, California
Amazon has expanded its drone delivery service to Tracy, California, as part of its plan to bring this technology to 500 cities across the United States. The drones are fully electric and can deliver packages weighing up to five pounds within a seven-mile radius of Amazon's facility on Grant Line Road.
The service offers up to 30-minute deliveries for eligible customers in the area, with over one million products available for delivery through the Amazon app. Prime Air provides delivery of everyday essentials, including household items, beauty products, and electronics.
The drones rely on sensors to guide their flight and avoid obstacles, ensuring safe and efficient deliveries. Community members will have the opportunity to preview the drone technology at the Sweet Dreams Car Show in downtown Tracy on Saturday, Aug. 29, where Amazon's Prime Air team will host a booth to answer questions.
