Amazon Cancels Spider-Noir After One Season
Amazon has canceled 'Spider-Noir,' a series starring Nicolas Cage, after just one season. The show had garnered 11 Emmy nominations and received positive reviews from audiences and critics alike, with an impressive 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The series was based on the Marvel comic 'Spider-Man Noir' and followed the story of Ben Reilly, a private investigator navigating 1930s New York. Despite its cancellation, Cage expressed satisfaction with the show's first season, stating that it had accomplished what they set out to do as a standalone story.
However, interestingly, Cage had already explored ideas for where the show could have gone next, including taking his character to different cultures and countries. This was met with controversy during production, with Sony reportedly ending its contract with Lord/Miller due to heated fights over budget.
