Amazon Cargo Jet Crashes at Miami Airport Due to Probable Pilot Error

A cargo plane operated by Amazon Prime Air crashed at Miami International Airport on Sunday afternoon, resulting in five fatalities and five injuries. The incident occurred around 2pm when the Boeing 767 landed and then veered off the runway, crossing a road used by workers near the airport.

According to aviation consultant Kyle Bailey, who has four decades of experience as a pilot, it appears that the plane touched down too far down the runway. With only about 4,000 feet remaining on the 9,000-foot runway, the chances of safely stopping were greatly reduced, Bailey said.

Bailey also pointed out that video footage suggests the plane was traveling at an excessive speed and that the left landing gear did not make contact with the runway after touchdown. He attributed these factors to pilot error, citing the unstable conditions caused by a thunderstorm in the area and a sudden change in wind direction.

Bailey, a former FAA Safety Team representative, believes that investigators will examine various aspects, including speed, braking, wind, weather, and maintenance records, to determine the cause of the crash. He noted that if the pilot had initiated a go-around procedure before landing, it could have potentially prevented the accident.
