Amazon Cargo Jet Crashes at Miami International Airport

An Amazon Prime Air Boeing 767 cargo jet ran off the runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday afternoon, with video footage showing the plane on a road near the airport perimeter.

The plane, operated by 21 Air as part of its freighter service, had arrived from San Juan, Puerto Rico, around 2 p.m. The Boeing 767-33A, which is 32 years old and has previously been operated by several airlines including Vietnam Airlines and Kenya Airways, was reportedly involved in a ground stop at Miami International Airport.

The plane's operator, 21 Air, is based in Miami and has its operations center there. Amazon had agreements for 40 dedicated cargo planes and introduced its first branded jet, Amazon One, in 2016. The plane that crashed is the same one that was repainted with Amazon's colors a decade ago.
