Amazon Cargo Jet Crashes into Cleaning Crew Van at Miami International Airport
A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed in Miami, Florida on behalf of the families of five cleaning crew members killed when an Amazon cargo jet crashed into their van at the Miami International Airport.
The victims included Yoel Rodriguez Naranjo, 53, a hardworking family man from Cuba who had worked multiple jobs for his family over the past 14 years; Julio C. Pineda, 75, known as 'The Magician' due to his love of magic tricks; Rolando Aleman Leon, 55; Carlos Acosta Fajardo, 53; and Javierkys Reyes Quevedo, 47.
The crew was wrapping up their eight-hour shift cleaning planes at the airport when they were struck by the speeding jet. The van was crushed by the plane, and two other workers in the van are still recovering in the hospital.
The lawsuit accuses Amazon, 21 Air, which operated the plane, and the pilots of negligence and recklessness.
