Amazon Cargo Plane Crash Disrupts Air Travel at Miami International
A deadly Amazon cargo plane crash at Miami International Airport has caused significant disruptions to air travel. On Sunday, September 6, Prime Air Flight 7598, a Boeing 767-300 jet operated by 21 Air, overran a runway and crashed into multiple vehicles at the airport, killing at least five people and hospitalizing five others.
The crash occurred during the Labor Day travel rush, one of the busiest times for air travel. At least 55 flights have been cancelled, and more than 100 others are delayed at Miami International Airport, according to FlightAware. The airport advises travelers to check with their airline for schedule changes.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has warned that travelers using Miami International Airport should expect delays and potential cancellations. Amazon has issued a statement saying their priority is the safety and well-being of everyone involved in the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board is expected to hold a news conference on September 7 to provide an update on their investigation.
