Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami Airport
An Amazon Air cargo jet operated by 21 Air crashed on Sunday at Miami International Airport. The Boeing 767-300, built in 1994 and converted to a cargo plane in 2015, overran the runway after arriving from San Juan at about 14:00 EDT.
At least five people were killed and five others injured when the aircraft struck vehicles and caught fire. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has sent investigators led by Chair Jennifer Homendy to determine the cause of the crash.
The accident happened while US markets were closed, but the stock prices of Amazon and Boeing did not react immediately. However, investors are waiting for more information to understand the impact on these companies.
