Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami Airport, Killing Five
A devastating Amazon cargo plane crash occurred at Miami International Airport on September 6, 2026. The Boeing 767 jet overran the runway by approximately 1,300 feet, killing five people and injuring several others.
NTSB Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy described the scene as 'utter devastation,' noting tire marks from the pavement into the grass, destroyed vehicles, torn fencing, navigational equipment, and crushed SUVs outside airport property.
The plane had flown from Cincinnati to Miami and then to San Juan, Puerto Rico, before returning to Miami when it crashed. Aside from the five fatalities, three people were critically injured and two others were hospitalized with less severe injuries.
