Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami Airport, Killing Five

A Boeing 767 cargo plane operated by 21 Air LLC and contracted to Amazon overran the runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday, resulting in a devastating crash that killed five people.

The plane, which was arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico, had already completed two flights of the day. It finally came to a halt about 1,300 feet past the paved surface, leaving debris and spilled fuel along its path.

National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) chief Jennifer Homendy described the scene as 'devastating' and said that investigators had recovered both flight data recorders and cockpit voice recorder for analysis. The victims were limited to those in two vehicles struck by the plane, including a cleaning-services van carrying seven people.
