Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami Airport, Killing Multiple People
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating a devastating crash involving an Amazon Prime Air cargo plane at Miami International Airport. The Boeing 767 aircraft, operated by 21Air LLC for Amazon, overran the runway and struck several vehicles, including a white van with seven occupants on board.
The incident occurred on Sunday at 1:53 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time when the plane was arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico. The flight had traveled 1,300 feet beyond the paved surface before crashing.
The NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy described the scene as 'utter devastation.' She stated that the agency will probe the operations and human performance of the crew, as well as the history of the accident flight, including the aircraft's maintenance and training records.
