Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami Airport, Multiple Patients Injured
An Amazon Prime cargo plane overran a runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday, leaving multiple patients being treated for injuries.
The incident occurred around 2 p.m. local time when the Boeing 767-300 cargo aircraft, which was registered as 21 Air Flight 7598, departed from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The plane, bearing an Amazon Prime Air logo, caught fire after crashing and is currently disabled at the northwest end of the airfield. Multiple videos circulating on social media show smoke billowing from the aircraft near a roadway at or near the airport.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue has confirmed that there are multiple patients being treated for their injuries, but did not provide further details on their condition. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has referred questions about the aircraft and those on board to Amazon Prime Air.
