Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami International Airport
A witness to the Amazon cargo plane crash at Miami International Airport described the scene as 'surreal' and 'scary'. Abraham Altamar, who was working in a nearby building, said he saw one of the pilots emerge from the cockpit, shaking and injured. The pilot approached Altamar and asked if he could use his phone to call his wife.
The witness, who was on FaceTime with his own wife at the time, handed over his phone to the pilot. According to Altamar, the pilot told his wife that he was fine but 'my career is over'. The pilots involved in the crash were identified as Joseph Carroll and Jaime Felipe Silva Molina.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said Prime Air Flight 7598 overshot the runway while landing on September 6, 2026. The plane struck navigation equipment before hitting a cleaning crew van with seven people inside, killing all five occupants of the vehicles involved.
