Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami International Airport
An Amazon cargo plane crashed at Miami International Airport in Florida on September 6, after overrunning the runway and striking several vehicles. The incident resulted in at least five deaths and injured five others.
The Boeing 767-300 cargo aircraft, operated by 21 Air for Amazon Prime Air, was arriving from Puerto Rico when it crashed into multiple vehicles near the airport. The pilot and copilot were trapped in the cockpit as a result of the crash, said Miami-Dade rescue fire chief Ray Jadallah.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has assembled a team to investigate the incident. The Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) confirmed the crash and will also be investigating.
