Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami International Airport
At least five people died after an Amazon cargo plane, operated by 21 Air, overran a runway and crashed at Miami International Airport on Sunday. The Boeing 767-300, which was carrying a load of cargo, departed from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico earlier that day.
The plane, identified as 21 Air Flight 7598, overran the diagonal runway while landing around 2 p.m. local time. The pilots did not declare an emergency before the landing, according to a review of air traffic control audio by CNN.
A total of five people were killed in the crash, with three others injured and taken to hospitals for treatment. The incident caused significant disruption at the airport, with all departures grounded due to the disabled aircraft.
