Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami International Airport
A devastating incident occurred at Miami International Airport on Sunday when an Amazon cargo plane operated by 21 Air crashed and caught fire after overrunning the runway. Five people lost their lives in the collision, while five others were injured and taken to area medical facilities for treatment.
According to reports from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, the plane had just arrived from San Juan, Puerto Rico, when it overshot the runway and struck multiple vehicles near the 2100 block of Northwest 42nd Avenue. The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a full ground stop at the airport while first responders assess the scene.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy stated that travelers should expect significant delays and potential cancellations due to the incident. Amazon Prime Air plane, a Boeing 767, was involved in the crash.
