Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami International Airport
A Boeing 767 cargo plane operated by Amazon's Prime Air crashed at Miami International Airport on Sunday, overrunning the runway and striking multiple vehicles. The incident occurred around 2 p.m., with the plane having just arrived from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene, reporting heavy flames and smoke coming from the crash site. 'Units arrived to find an airplane that had caught on fire as a result of this crash, with heavy flames and smoke showing,' said MDFR. 'There are multiple patients.'
The National Transportation Safety Board is gathering information about the incident, while the Federal Aviation Administration has issued a full ground stop at Miami International Airport. The airport's operations have been significantly disrupted, with significant delays and potential cancellations expected.
