Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami International Airport
A Boeing 767 cargo plane operated by Amazon Prime Air overran the runway at Miami International Airport on September 6, 2026, causing a fire and injuring multiple people. The incident occurred around 1:55pm local time when the plane landed from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, the crew received reports of a hazardous situation involving a plane that had overran a runway and struck multiple vehicles. Upon arrival, they found the plane on fire with heavy flames and smoke showing.
The airport's statement confirmed that all runways and taxiways were closed as of 3:00pm, resulting in a ground stop for all flights until further notice.
