Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami International Airport
An Amazon cargo plane operated by 21 Air has crashed at Miami International Airport, killing at least five people. The Boeing 767 aircraft overran the runway during a landing on Sunday afternoon and caught fire, with multiple vehicles on the surrounding road also damaged.
The plane was flying from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Miami when it landed on runway 30, which is over 9,000 feet long. According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the aircraft did not declare an emergency before landing and there's no clear reason why it couldn't stop in time.
The FAA will investigate the incident along with the National Transportation Safety Board. The airline has stated that they're working closely with local authorities to understand what happened and are prioritizing the safety of those involved.
