Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami International Airport

An Amazon cargo plane operated by 21 Air overshot the runway at Miami International Airport on September 6, 2026, crashing and striking several vehicles. The incident resulted in the deaths of five people and injured five others.

The aircraft, a Boeing 767-300 cargo plane, was attempting to land from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, when it veered off course. According to eyewitnesses, the plane caught fire after hitting multiple vehicles near the airport.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are investigating the cause of the crash, which remains unclear at this time. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has launched a go team to look into the incident and has recovered the plane's black boxes.
