Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami International Airport
A catastrophic incident occurred at Miami International Airport on September 6, 2026, when an Amazon cargo plane overshot the runway and crashed into a nearby street. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have descended upon South Florida to investigate the cause of the crash.
Witness Grace Mercado described the scene as 'surreal' and 'like something from a movie.' She was in a vehicle with her partner when they heard a loud noise and saw the plane plowing across the street. Mercado stated that it was 'extremely loud,' like a shake, and that she couldn't compare it to anything else.
The first responders arrived within seconds, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, who responded with over 60 units and about 200 personnel. Five people were killed, and five others were injured in the crash.
