Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami International Airport, Five Killed
A Boeing 767-300 cargo plane operated by Amazon Prime Air Flight 7598 crashed at Miami International Airport on Sunday afternoon, resulting in the deaths of at least five people and injuring another five.
The aircraft had arrived from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and overran the runway shortly before 2 pm local time. It then struck several vehicles and buildings in the area used by warehouse workers and businesses around the airport.
Dramatic video footage shows the plane speeding beyond the runway before crashing into the surrounding area, with flames erupting from the aircraft.
The crash caused significant damage and a major emergency response at and around the airport. Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the accident, examining factors such as the aircraft's pilots, runway conditions, weather, flight data, and other possible contributing causes.
