Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes in Miami, Killing Five

On Sunday, a Boeing 767 cargo plane operated by Amazon crashed at Miami International Airport, killing five people and injuring several others. The pilots involved in the crash were being interviewed by National Transportation Safety Board investigators on Wednesday.

The pilot, Joseph Carroll, 55, and first officer, Jaime Felipe Silva Molina, 37, had been hospitalized after the crash but have since been released from the hospital.

According to investigators, the plane's flight data suggests that it tried to abort an unsteady landing and attempted a go-around before abandoning that plan and trying to stop the plane. The thrust reversers were never used to help stop the plane.

NTSB Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy said they want to hear the pilots' accounts about what happened before releasing a readout of the cockpit voice recorder.
