Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes in Miami, Killing Five
A Boeing 767-300 cargo plane operated by 21 Air crashed while landing at Miami International Airport on Sunday, killing five people and injuring five others. The Prime Air flight, number 7598, departed from San Juan, Puerto Rico, before the accident.
The aircraft overran the runway, struck multiple vehicles, and crashed, with the pilot and co-pilot trapped inside. Two people were trapped in vehicles hit by the plane.
A total of 60 rescue units and about 200 emergency personnel responded to the scene. Crews also dealt with a fuel leak from the aircraft.
Amazon spokesperson Kelly Nantel said the company was 'heartbroken' over the crash, adding that their deepest sympathies go out to the families, loved ones, and all those affected by this devastating loss.
