Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes Near Miami International Airport
A Boeing 767 cargo plane operated by Amazon's Prime Air affiliate, 21 Air, overran the runway at Miami International Airport on September 6th. The incident occurred around 2 p.m., causing a massive fire that billowed thick black smoke into the sky.
The aircraft, which was departing from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, crossed the perimeter road and ended up in a nearby field after crossing Northwest 67th Avenue. Multiple vehicles were struck by the plane as it came to a stop.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), all departures from the airport have been grounded while they investigate the cause of the incident. Amazon has confirmed that one of its planes was involved and is working closely with local authorities to understand what happened.
