Amazon Cargo Plane Crashes Off Runway at Miami International
An Amazon Prime Air Boeing 767 cargo plane overran the runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday, September 6, 2026, causing a fire that killed at least five people and injured several others. The plane, which was arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico, struck multiple vehicles after leaving the runway and burst into flames.
The pilot and copilot were trapped in the plane, while some passengers were trapped inside nearby vehicles. Fire crews were still dealing with a fuel leak on the plane several hours after the crash.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said it was sending investigators to the scene, while the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) stated that it was 'gathering information' about the crash.
