Amazon Cargo Plane Overruns Runway at Miami International Airport
An Amazon cargo plane overran the runway during landing at Miami International Airport on Sunday, striking multiple vehicles on a road surrounding the airport. The Boeing 767 aircraft, which was flying from San Juan, Puerto Rico, caught fire after leaving the pavement and emitted heavy flames and smoke.
More than 60 fire units responded to the scene to put out the fire and assess patients. It's unclear if anyone was injured during the incident.
The National Transportation Safety Board is gathering information about the crash, while the Federal Aviation Administration will investigate. The plane, operated by 21 Air for Amazon's Prime Air service, damaged navigational equipment when it left the runway.
