Amazon, Chewy Recalls Dog Supplements Over Salmonella Concerns
Dog supplements sold on Amazon and Chewy have been recalled due to potential salmonella contamination. The company Vet Plus, Inc. is recalling two of its dog supplements, Fi Calming Supplement for Dogs and Fi 8-in-1 Formula Supplement for Dogs.
The recall was initiated after the FDA notified the company that an ingredient in the supplements could be contaminated with salmonella. The affected products come in 180-gram containers and can be identified by their lot numbers, 26118 and 26159, as well as their UPC codes, 850064800111 and 850055111684.
Pet owners are advised to stop using the recalled supplements immediately and discard them properly. According to the FDA, salmonella can pose a potential risk not only to pets but also to their owners, who may be exposed through handling contaminated products or animal waste.
