Amazon closed its north Reno delivery station on Sunday due to the Hawk Fire. The facility, located at 9740 N. Virginia St., is within a red 'go now' evacuation zone. All employees and delivery drivers are safe and accounted for, according to Amazon.

The company confirmed with the Reno Gazette Journal that it shut down its north Reno site in response to the wildfire. The location is south of U.S. 395 near Stead Boulevard. The Hawk Fire has burned over 15,000 acres since Saturday, August 22, and was 27% contained as of Monday afternoon.

The facility will remain closed until it's safe to resume operations. Amazon's new same-day delivery facility in south Reno across from Shayden Summit mall remains operational.

Amazon spokesperson said the company is 'closely monitoring' the wildfire situation and making decisions based on guidance from local and state authorities. Employees will continue to be paid while the site is closed, according to Amazon.
