A recent SEC filing shows that Empirical Finance LLC increased its position in Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) by 9.9% during the first quarter, adding 33,960 shares to its existing holding of 377,013 shares.
The institutional investor's total stake in Amazon is now worth $78.52 million and accounts for approximately 3.7% of Empirical Finance LLC's investment portfolio.
This is not the only recent change in ownership; other institutional investors have also adjusted their positions in AMZN, with Gryphon Financial Partners LLC increasing its holdings by 7.5%, First Citizens Bank & Trust Co. growing its stake by 1.7%, and Narwhal Capital Management boosting its position by 2.3%.
The expansion of Amazon's presence in the healthcare sector is another point of interest, with the company expanding its pharmacy services to offer weight-loss drugs at a discounted price for eligible Medicare Part D patients.
