Amazon Cuts 121 Jobs in Washington State Amid Restructuring Efforts
Amazon is cutting 121 jobs in Washington state, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice. The layoffs affect corporate positions in Seattle and Bellevue, as well as 32 jobs at the company's Sumner fulfillment center.
The affected employees worked across 12 different Amazon offices and facilities, with termination dates ranging from October 1 to October 27. One employee was remote-based, while the rest were based in Seattle (35), Sumner (32), or Bellevue (53).
This latest round of layoffs follows a previous reduction of 30,000 jobs between October and January, the highest workforce cut Amazon has experienced.
