Nvidia has dominated the artificial intelligence (AI) chip market since its early days.

The company's graphics processing units (GPUs) have been tailored to AI needs, and it continues to innovate.

Nvidia faces competition from AMD, Intel, and even some of its own customers, like Amazon, which has started making its own AI chips.

However, recent news suggests that Nvidia may have eliminated the biggest risk in this market: competition from major players.

AWS (Amazon's cloud computing unit) has expanded its partnership with Nvidia, agreeing to buy 2 million GPUs over two years. This deal includes the potential purchase of millions of central processing units (CPUs), which are key chips involved in powering agentic AI.

Nvidia's new Rubin platform is expected to generate $20 billion in revenue this year and aims to make Nvidia a leader in stand-alone CPUs.
