Amazon Delivery Driver Sued Over Fatal Collision with 4-Year-Old Boy
The family of Tadens Joseph, a 4-year-old boy who was killed in May by an Amazon delivery truck in Kansas City, Missouri, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver and the delivery company.
On May 4 at around 6:30 p.m., police said the child was playing in a public park when he entered the roadway and was struck by the Amazon delivery vehicle driven by Estefany Lara Ortiz.
The driver initially stopped but left before officers arrived, despite a family member attempting to follow her and inform her of what had happened. The 4-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Affidavit in the lawsuit claims that children were visible playing in the area and Ortiz should have used caution while driving through the area.
