A massive tree fell onto an Amazon delivery truck during Friday night storms in Plainfield, New Jersey, crushing the vehicle and trapping one worker inside.

The incident occurred around the time of heavy rainfall and strong winds, with witnesses describing the sound as 'an explosion'.

A neighbor, who rushed to help free the trapped worker, used a kitchen knife to cut off the seatbelt, allowing the driver to escape, albeit injured.

Amazon released a statement saying they were 'grateful that the Delivery Service Partner drivers are safe' and thanked those who responded at the scene.
