Amazon Driver Found Dead in Lake County Vehicle

An Amazon delivery driver has died in Lake County after being found unresponsive in her vehicle.

Deputies responded to the area of Clark Road in Fruitland Park at around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, following a call about an Amazon delivery vehicle that had been running stationary for a long time.

The driver was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. The cause of her death is currently unclear and the sheriff's office is continuing to investigate.

Amazon has confirmed that the woman was one of its drivers but did not identify her, stating 'We're deeply saddened by this tragic incident, and our thoughts and prayers are with the driver's loved ones during this difficult time.'
