Amazon Drivers Warn: Don't Order Bottled Water During Summer Heat
An Amazon delivery driver shared a video on social media that exposed the dangers of ordering heavy cases of bottled water online during extreme summer heat. The worker filmed the clip inside his delivery cargo van while transporting a case of Essentia alkaline water, which reached a scorching 110 degrees Fahrenheit in the cargo area.
The driver pointed out that high temperatures inside delivery vehicles can damage products before they reach customers' doors. He noted that cargo bays lack air conditioning units to cool heavy packages, making it difficult for workers to transport them safely. 'To the people who keep ordering this f, water from Amazon,' he said, 'your 9.5 pH isn't really doing s, when the plastic has leached into the water.'
The driver's comments sparked a discussion about the risks of microplastics in bottled water. Plastic bottles can leach chemicals and microplastics into drinks during transport from central warehouses to store shelves or neighborhood homes.
