Amazon Drone Delivery Expands to Almost 500 US Cities
Amazon has announced a significant expansion of its drone delivery service, Prime Air. The company aims to reach nearly 500 US cities by the end of 2026, six times more than its current footprint. This will bring ultrafast drone delivery to tens of millions of customers across the country.
Prime Air offers a wide selection of items, including groceries, electronics, cosmetics, medications, and household products at everyday low prices. Deliveries are made in as fast as 30 minutes, free for Prime members on orders over $50, with a $2.99 fee for orders under $50 and a $4.99 fee for non-Prime members.
The service is currently available in eight locations: Tolleson, Arizona; Ruskin, Florida; Kansas City, Kansas; Papillion, Nebraska; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Hazel Park, Michigan; Pontiac, Michigan; Richmond, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; Richardson, Texas; and Waco, Texas. The expansion includes Chicago, Illinois; Syracuse, New York; Cleveland, Ohio; Atlanta, Georgia; and Boise, Idaho metro areas.
